Q. Where can we get those Ed Carpenter t-shirts, or even those cool Vision Racing Nike polos?
A. Thank you for your inquiry, Scott. You certainly aren't the first person to ask either! The Ed Carpenter t-shirts were sort of a one-off deal for the Indianapolis 500, but something that is also in consideration of being offered to on our fans on this site. We've never had any merchandise offerings so we're looking to take baby steps to get started and we think that the day-glo yellow Ed Carpenter t-shirt may be a perfect way to venture into that business. As for the Nike polos worn by our team and crew, unfortunately those are team issue only. Perhaps we could look into making those available one day as well. Thank you again for your interest and should we ever launch a merchandise page, we'll be sure to let you know.
Q. Why isn't there much recent video in the video clips section?
A. Another great question. Thank you for bringing that up, Nick. The team is bound by licensing issues as it relates to the Indy Racing League, IMS Productions and our television partners. In other words, even to record our own pit stops and put them up on the site would cost us several hundred dollars for each video clip, based on the current licensing expenses. So if its footage we shoot at the track, basically it's too expensive for us to publish. One would think it would only go toward promoting the overal product, but it doesn't really work like that. So, look for some vignettes from our race shop and places unknown in the future.
Q. The new website is great! What else should us fans be looking for on the site in the coming weeks?
A. Thank you, Kyle! Great question and thank you for asking. Look for some changes throughout the entire site in the next few weeks. Some of those will include enhancements to the team history and stats pages, more team bios, additional photography, as well as special features to the "For the Fans" site. Some of those special features will include more alternate team bios, "Recipes of the Weekend" from IRL Chef, Eddie Wilson, and a "Dog Days of Summer" section featuring teammembers' mutts. Stay tuned and stop back by early and often!
